This rare, limited edition watch is number 6 in a series of artist designed watches commissioned by Swiss manufacturers, Chaos in the early 90s.

Designed by American artist, Jeff Koons, and entitled "Eternal Koons '92" it was manufactured in 1992/3 in an edition of 9999. This particular watch is numbered 3626 on the reverse and comes in its original perspex case. Various websites state that whilst it was supposed to be an edition of 9999 Chaos didn't actually manufacture that many, how reliable that information is we have no idea.

Jeff Koons is, probably, best known for his sculptures of ordinary items created in an extaordinary way. His 'Flower Puppy' outside the Bilbao Guggenheim is a huge tourist attraction and his 'Inflatables' made of steel are meticulously painted and challenge the viewers perception of reality. This watch has the profile image of his 1991 marble sculpture, 'Self-Portrait' on the face and, the plinth, on which the bust stands, is recreated on the straps.

Various artists have designed watches for Chaos including Allen Jones, and Mel Ramos.
