Warhol returned to the Marilyn portrait at various times in his career, and Rosenthal,
under license from the Warhol Foundation, have incorporated many of these different
stylistic approaces into these Mugs.
 
As if to emphasise the continuity of the image, the mugs are designed to be an abstraction of
the portrait when viewed singly, but when 4 are assembled in a tower they become a sculptural
reference to the development of this post modern icon.
